To connect your Motorola smartphone and tablet to your computer without installing Motorola PC Suite, you need to install Motorola USB Driver on your Windows computer. The drivers whose download links are provided on this page are the same official Motorola device USB drivers only stripped / extracted from Motorola Device Manager application.
Apart from being able to connect your Motorola devices to your computer with the purpose to transfer, sync, backup and restore data to and from the device, these drivers are also required to flash or install stock firmware on Motorola devices, in case you ever need to and that also include other Motorola factory images and system files.

You may SKIP this step if you have done it prior. - In the folder wherein you have extracted the Motorola USB Drivers, you should see Motorola_Mobile_Drivers_v6.4.0_32bit.msi and Motorola_Mobile_Drivers_v6.4.0_64bit.msi. Select either the
x32bit setup.exe
orx64bit setup.exe
depending on which Windows your computer currently runs and double-click on it. - After a while, Windows InstallShield wizard should open. From the screen, locate "Next" and click on it.
- Here, again, click Next.
- From here, check the radio button to accept the terms and conditions of the drivers installation and then, click Next.
- And now, Windows begins installing the Motorola USB drivers on your PC. Be informed that the installation process may take between a few seconds to several minutes. Just hold on.
- Once the installation is complete, click Close and exit Windows InstallShield wizard setup screen.
- To finalize the drivers installation process, you should restart your PC. Once the PC is restarted, any Motorola smartphone and tablet devices can now be connected to the PC and be recognised by the computer.
